⁴ᴷ Kanagawa: Kawasaki Station (神奈川県: 川崎駅) – Japan Walking Tour (April, 2025)

I had originally planned a trip to a more distant location, but this time I decided to revisit the Tokyo metropolitan area for the first time in a while. So this month, I’ll be walking around cities in the capital region.

The first stop was Kawasaki Station, the central hub of Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture. These days, the area around the north exit—especially around Lazona Kawasaki—gives off a more stylish, modern vibe. But for this visit, I explored the south side, which still retains the old-fashioned atmosphere.

Starting from the station, I walked along Nakamise Street. At almost every intersection along the way, there were men out soliciting customers. Compared to other cities, the general vibe of the people walking around felt a bit rough. It really gave me that familiar sense of, “Ah yes, this is what Kawasaki feels like.”
