Apr 6th. 2025

Archers dressed in hunting attire from the Kamakura period and various traditional officials parade through the riding grounds, and the brave Yabusame begins.
The archers gallop like the wind while shouting “In and You”, hitting the first target, then the second target, and then the third target, one after another.
The first target represents prayers for the prosperity of the country, the second target for peace throughout the world, and the third target for bountiful harvests. They also represent prayers for the warding off epidemics and evil spirits. Washibara Hachiman Shrine is famous for its approximately 100 cherry trees, and many people flock to see the brave samurai picture scroll that takes place beneath the trees in full bloom.
The horses are too fast, it’s like a gale

9:00 Roadside Station I came with plenty of time, but the Nagomi-no-Sato parking lot was already full, so I went into the temporary parking lot opposite.
Yabusame viewing is free, but the operation, maintenance, cleaning, and safety management must be very hard work. I think everyone is a local volunteer, and I am grateful to them.
