Family Snow Trip – Skiing in Japan’s Tropical State?

Japan is known for its powder snow and we have snow resorts in all the major islands. This one is the most southern one in the tropical state of Miyazaki which is known for surfing. Gokase Highland was closed for a few years due to a typhoon, and with the roads fixed, they are back, welcomed by a great snowfall this year! We finally made it to this snow resort, which is loved and protected by the locals.

Before the ski day, we stayed in this wonderful cabin and had some Japanese hotpot (Nabe). We stopped by a local supermarket to get some fresh local produce and wine.
