Photographed on April 21, 2023 in Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture. Mogami Yoshimitsu was the 11th lord of the Mogami clan and expanded Yamagata Castle into the largest castle in the Tohoku region. The Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 spread to Oshu and he clashed with Uesugi Kagekatsu of the Western Army. His sister, Yoshihime, was the mother of Date Masamune. However, the Mogami and Date clans would later come into conflict.

実家が東北なのにまだ行っていないのがこの山形城跡なんですよね。
桜の名所でもあるので、桜開花のタイミングで行きたいと願って、結局行けず仕舞いでした。
