    Actually all the monuments you saw are not even half their original size. You see those stone parts of the monuments were the only survivors. If you go to some ruin temples in Hampi you will see a half destroyed brick made gopuram (the tall entrance structure) . So all the monuments had these rocks as pillars and foundation structures the rest of it were completely destroyed thanks to islamic invaders. It angers me to see hampi and understand what kind of atrocities our ancestors had to go through for last 1000 yrs in the hands of abrahamic west. We are in this pathetic state bcoz everyone looted our riches and destroyed our Rich culture.

    Kannada architecture is GOATed. You can visit Ellora Kailasa cave temple now in Maharashtra which is also carved by rashtrakuta Kannada kings. That temple is carved from outside to inside in one single rock below the ground level. All the Kannada emperors from kadambas. Badami chalukya Kalyani Chalukyas rashtrakutas hoysala Gangas Vijayanagara and Mysore kings Bhamani and Bijapur sultanate were much into architecture music dance ( famous as Carnatic) and literature. Kannada language itself is rich in literature and Kannada has rich history of poets.

    Just tell every one dog peeing on the bikes is good luck!! Looks like you are eating better than some of the round the world trip. What are you navigating with? Can you imagin being the first person to start carving out that cave. How far did he get on day one?
