GOMES SAN is run by a Bangladeshi master by the same name. Originally trained in European and French cuisine, he has worked 10 years around Japan before setting up shop for the last 20 years. His izakaya has an extensive menu of European food (pasta, pizza), Japanese food (a whole host of izakaya tapas), and Indian food (curry & various Indian breads). Today’s lunch was a delicious chicken and egg curry. Very tasty and juicy. The naan was crispy yet mochi mochi, and the bread was not too thick. I ordered an additional tandoori chicken to go with it. The cook and the flavoring were good! Yet, GOMES SAN comes alive as a Japanese izakaya at night. It’s busy most nights, even on weekdays.
