A hot spring where Saigo Takamori came to heal his body and mind.
Shiratori Onsen Kamiyu is a historic hot spring where Saigo Takamori, who was defeated in the debate over the Korean Expedition, came to heal his body and mind and stayed for three months. It is located on the way down from Ebino Highlands to the city along Prefectural Route 30. The atmospheric wooden natural steam bath and the various baths with the scent of wood create a nostalgic atmosphere.
