Alberobello, literally “beautiful tree”; is a small town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia, southern Italy. It has 10,735 inhabitants and is famous for its unique trullo buildings. The trulli of Alberobello have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996.     Another thing the bright warm sunshine and food with lots of spicy herbs makes them somewhat different from European countries more close to South America style

    The secret to these roofs is that it took a very complex wooden framework to stack the stones on top of each other until the roof became self-supporting. This wooden framework was then passed on to the next house builder. The stones were free. That's why the roofs are all the same. The same wooden scaffolding that was passed on was always used.
