氷海展望塔オホーツクタワーは、紋別の海に突き出したユニークな展望施設で、流氷のシーズンにはまるで氷の世界に浮かぶ秘密基地みたいなスポット！陸から約1km沖にあって、長い堤防を歩くか、専用の送迎バスでアクセスできます。
中に入ると、まずは展望フロア。オホーツク海を一望できて、冬はもちろん流氷がびっしり！運が良ければ、アザラシがひょっこり顔を出したり、オオワシやオジロワシが飛んでる姿も見られるかも。カフェスペースもあるので、ホットドリンク片手にのんびり海を眺めるのもアリ。
でも、このタワーの面白いところは海の中も見られること！タワーの下のフロアには水中観察窓があって、氷の下の世界をのぞけちゃいます。流氷の下を泳ぐ魚たちや、透明度の高いオホーツクの海が間近に見えるのはここならでは。
さらに、4Dシアターで流氷の魅力をバーチャル体験できたり、小さな水族館もあるので、流氷について楽しみながら学べるのもポイント。

The Okhotsk Tower, a unique observation facility jutting out into the sea off Monbetsu, is a spot that, during drift ice season, is like a secret base floating in an icy world! It is located about 1km offshore and can be accessed by walking along a long embankment or by a special shuttle bus.
When you enter, the first thing you see is the observation floor. You can get a panoramic view of the Sea of Okhotsk, which is, of course, covered in drift ice in winter! If you’re lucky, you might even see a seal popping out, or a Steller’s sea eagle or a white-tailed eagle flying. There is also a cafe space, so you can relax and watch the sea with a hot drink in hand.
But the interesting thing about this tower is that you can see under the sea! There is an underwater observation window on the lower floor of the tower, so you can look at the world under the ice. Only here can you get a close-up view of the fish swimming under the drift ice and the crystal clear Okhotsk Sea.
What’s more, you can virtually experience the charm of drift ice in the 4D theater, and there is also a small aquarium, so you can learn about drift ice while having fun.
