大津・日吉大社 山王祭「神輿上神事」（2025年3月2日 滋賀県大津市） Otsu Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine Sanno Festival “Mikoshi Ritual”
滋賀県の湖国三大祭りの一つ、日吉大社（大津市）の山王祭の幕開けとなる「神輿上（おこしあげ）神事」が2025年3月2日、日吉大社境内で行われた。小雨が降る中、男衆が2基の神輿を八王子山（標高381メートル）の奥宮に運び、春の訪れを告げる伝統行事の無事を祈った。
駕輿丁（かよちょう）と呼ばれる担ぎ手約250人のほか、初参加となる地元の滋賀短期大付属高校や比叡山高校、北大津高校の各野球部、スポーツ少年団員らが担ぎ上げた。
The “Okoshiage Ceremony,” which marks the beginning of the Sanno Festival at Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine (Otsu City), one of the three major festivals in Lake Country, Shiga Prefecture, was held on March 2, 2025, in the grounds of Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine. In the light rain, men carried two portable shrines to the inner shrine on Mount Hachioji (381 meters above sea level) and prayed for the safety of the traditional event that heralds the arrival of spring.
In addition to about 250 bearers called Kayocho, the portable shrines were also carried by the baseball teams of local schools such as Shiga Junior College High School, Hiei Mountain High School, and Kita-Otsu High School, as well as members of the youth sports club, who were participating for the first time.
