New Kyoto Subway-owned 20 series rolling stock (京都市交通局20系電車) has been introduced from 2022 to replace some of the oldest 10 Series in the fleet. They were built by Kinki Sharyo and fitted with Mitsubishi hybrid SiC-IGBT-VVVF traction control system.
The Karasuma Line (#烏丸線) is the first Kyoto Municipal Subway line to be opened in the network.
