I have always wanted to take my family to Otaru and Hokkaido in general in February
But the temperature is the biggest challenge 😢
While some say there's not much to see and do in Hokkaido in the summer
So no trip to Hokkaido so far

I am really very grateful to you because I enjoyed every second of your videos
I’ve seen just about every video on this city I could find, and I’m really not sure why it caught my interest. At first, I think it was because the name sounds similar to the word for firefly, my favorite insect. Otaru and hotaru are completely different words, but it got stuck in my head anyway. And now I’m completely fascinated by this city in the winter, and Hokkaido in general. I love snow, and how they’ve made entire festivals to celebrate it. The creativity on display here and in the Sapporo snow festival is truly impressive. But I really like Otaru’s version with all the warm lights embedded in the snow. I hope to be able to see it for myself next winter.
