Toyama | MESO ★★Ethnic Cafe in front of Kosugi Station★★富山県射水市メソエスニックカフェ
MESO is a cafe with an ethnic touch located one block in front of Kosugi Station in Imizu city, Toyama. It is a little bit hidden, which makes this a hidden gem. Inside, there are a lot of trinkets, rugs and unique furniture to transport you into a different world. I’m thinking almost Native American decor. The food is basically a cafe with a touch of ethnic spices. There’s omelet rice with tomato sauce or demi-glace sauce. Then there’s a whole bunch of doria and curry items. We ordered the green curry and omelet rice with demi-glace sauce. Both were tasty. The green curry has a kick to it, and the coconut milk sets it apart from most curries available in Toyama. The salad actually also had some other appetizers as well. We had pickled red cabbage with cumin, pate and toast, salami and ginger radish soup. You do pay a bit of a premium price compared to other places, while the volume is not huge. I think you’re paying for the unique decor and spices. Anyway, MESO is something different in Toyama. Enjoy! @TastyWaterOM
