京都 佛光寺 桜 Beautiful Kyoto Bukkoji Buddhist Temple 2022

「佛光寺」
親鸞聖人は、建暦二年（１２１２）に山科に草庵を結ばれました。
この草庵が佛光寺草創と伝えられています。
当初、真宗開闢の根本道場を意味して「興隆正法寺」と号しました。

親鸞聖人在世の当時、真宗の教えは関東を中心に広がりをみせていましたが、
第七世了源上人になって、教化活動の拠点を旧仏教の盛んな京都に置き、布教活動に力を入れました。
人々は風になびく草木のごとく上人のお徳を慕って念仏申すようになり、元応二年（１３２０）には、寺基を山科から今比叡汁谷（現・京都国立博物館あたり）に移しました。

建武二年（１３３５）十二月八日、上人はご教化の途上、伊賀（三重）の七里峠において賊徒に襲われ、正法流布のご生涯を閉じられたのですが、その死に臨んで自己をあやめんとする者に対して「この者を罪することなかれ、回心の気あり、よく後生を教ゆべし」とお諭しになりました。
時に上人42歳でした。了源上人は、わが国で初めて真宗教団を組織され、念仏不毛の地を耕されたお方で、佛光寺のみならず真宗教団の中興の祖といっても過言ではありません。

佛光寺が繁盛するにしたがって、それを妬む輩が現れ、ある夜ご本尊や法宝物を盗み出して竹やぶに投げ捨てました。

その夜、後醍醐天皇が夢枕に東南の方向から一筋の光が差し込むのをご覧になり、ただちに人を遣わせられたところ、阿弥陀如来のお木像が出てきました。この仏像がわがご本山の阿弥陀如来像の台座と一致するところとなり、勅願により「阿弥陀佛光寺」略して佛光寺の寺号を賜ったと伝えられています。

2022年3月30日水曜日の京都佛光寺。
３本の糸桜はまだ一分も花開いていませんでしたが
他の桜はほぼ満開となっていました。
今週末には散り始め見頃となると思います。
一桜は来週に満開になりそうですので
その頃もう一度訪ねてみます。

“Bukkoji Temple”
Shinran saint was tied to Yamashina in the second year of the Kenryaku calendar (1212).
This hermitage is said to be Bukkoji Temple.
Initially, it was called “Koryu Shohoji”, meaning the root dojo of the Shinshu Kaiho.

At the time of Shinran’s life, the teachings of Shin Buddhism spread mainly in the Kanto region.
As the 7th Ryogen Shonin, he set his base for indoctrination activities in Kyoto, where old Buddhism was flourishing, and focused on missionary activities.
People began to pray for the virtues of their superiors like vegetation fluttering in the wind, and in the second year of Gen’o (1320), the temple base was moved from Yamashina to Hiei Shirutani (currently around the Kyoto National Museum). did.

On December 8th, 1335 (Kenmu 2), the superior was attacked by a thief at the Shichiri Pass in Iga (Mie) during the indoctrination, and his life was closed, but he died. He advised those who apologize for themselves, “Don’t sin this person, be converted, and teach your posterity well.”
Sometimes my superior was 42 years old. It is no exaggeration to say that Ryogen Shonin is the first person in Japan to organize a Shinshu sect and cultivate the barren land of Nembutsu, and is the founder of the Shinshu sect as well as Bukkoji Temple.

As Bukkoji Temple prospered, people who were jealous of it appeared, and one night they stole the principal image and treasures and threw them into the bamboo grove.

That night, when Emperor Go-Daigo saw a ray of light shining into the dream pillow from the southeast direction and was immediately sent to a person, a wooden statue of Amida Nyorai appeared. It is said that this Buddha statue coincided with the pedestal of the Amida Nyoraiji statue on our main mountain, and was given the temple name of Bukkoji for short as “Amitabha Bukkoji” by a request.
