A restaurant that is very popular among the people of the Iwakuni U.S. military base for its “taste of home”. Gator’s, a restaurant specializing in “Cajun food,” local food from Louisiana, U.S.A. It opened in Miyajima-guchi, Hiroshima in 2016. Last year, it relocated to Iwakuni. Both day and night, the restaurant is frequented by local residents and personnel from the U.S. military base for local food from the southern part of the U.S.
The master, Ryan, is a fifth-generation Japanese-American. He came to Japan after graduating from high school and has been struggling in Japan for 20 years. Cajun cuisine is a mix of French, Spanish, African, and American cultures. The restaurant was bright, lively, and full of excitement with the diverse cultures and spice-filled dishes. 移転して間もないから当然なんだろうけど、厨房が物凄く綺麗。
料理のクオリティは間違いなさそうなので、後はこの清潔さを維持して欲しいですな。

実際に食した訳ではないけど、魚介類が豊富だったり、スパイスがカレーを彷彿とさせたりしていて、日本人にはアメリカでも南部の料理の方が口に合いそうな感じがしますね。
もっと陽気にワイワイとした雰囲気を想像していましたが、皆さんかなり黙々とされていて意外でした。ご夫婦も温和でゆったりした雰囲気で居心地良さそうですね。
食器も凝っていて素敵なお店ですね❤
