Snow Melts in Morning Sun, Walking Chizu Town | Tottori, Japan

A winter walk on a sunny morning through the traditional village of Chizu in Tottori, Japan. This part of the town has some beautiful wooden houses and some interesting narrow alleys with water flowing through canals on either side. I also like how the melting snow from the rooftops sounds a bit like rain. Chizu was a logging town, and there are signs of some of its woodworking past still present along the walk. I hope you enjoy this sunny morning in the snow.

  1. You seemed to have covered a lot in this large town. There are many different areas I can only guess: residential old and new, temples and cemeteries, a wood yard, old factories and new warehouses, back alleys, side streets, main streets and a highway. Only when I see the large ice cream cone sitting in front of a place, I know for sure what I can get there. Happy walks, the sound of your boots grinding the snow beneath is quite enjoyable.
