  1. Hi Ryan, I am watching your new video and like it a lot. We were planning to stay in Ginzan Onsen for 2 nights in March (at Notoya). I contacted them one year in advance and wanted to book, but they told me that they accept reservations only 6 months in advance. On the day where the reservation started, I woke up in the middle of the night, to make a reservation as soon as possible, but it was already fully booked 😞. So I really dont know how one is able to make a reservation there 🙂. At first, I was dissapointed, but since, I have seen several videos of Ginzan Onsen, and this very small place is so extremely busy, that I wouldnt enjoy it there. So I am very happy with the ryokan we booked instead, in the snow country of Niigata.

Now I am curious to see the ryokan you are staying in. Can you explain the meaning of the statue at 11:00 in the entrance of the ryokan ? We see this often in Japan, and always wonder about it.
