Japanese Nagaimo – From the Aomori Prefecture
Aomori Prefecture is a leading producer of Nagaimo, supplying about 40% of Japan’s market. It is primarily grown in the eastern Nanbu region, including Towada, Misawa, and Tohoku. Due to the cold Yamase wind from the Pacific, the region specializes in cold-resistant root vegetables like nagaimo, garlic, and burdock.
