Japan’s budget sleeper trains are wonderful! A 🚉12 hour journey!

I took a ride on the Sunrise Izumo, Japan’s only daily-operated sleeper train. I chose the second cheapest grade, the B-sleeper “Single” room. The journey covers about 950 km and takes approximately 12 hours. The Sunrise Izumo and Sunrise Seto, being the only daily sleeper trains, are incredibly popular, making tickets hard to come by, so I recommend booking early. I hope this can be a reference for your travels. Please, watch until the end.

-Sunrise Izumo-
Route: Tokyo to Izumo
Private Room: B-Sleeper Single
Price: $149.46 (includes all fares and sleeper express tickets)
Distance: About 953.6 km
Duration: About 12 hours
