⁴ᴷ Ehime: Imabari Station (愛媛県: 今治駅) – Japan Walking Tour (January, 2025)
I’ve resumed my Shikoku city tour, which I had to cancel last December. After taking a ferry directly from Tokyo to Tokushima, I traveled through Kōchi Prefecture and have now arrived in Ehime Prefecture.
In recent years, this city has become known as the gateway to the Shimanami Kaidō, and I’ve noticed quite a few road bikes around town. It’s also well-known for its strong commerce and industry—particularly the famous Imabari towels. There’s a covered shopping arcade a bit away from the station, and near it is a nightlife district, but the downtown area felt rather quiet overall.
