Wet Snow and Slush Walking Hillside Village | Asago, Japan 4K

I didn’t plan on walking this particular village, but it was snowing and I didn’t think it would last long so I made an impromptu decision to walk up the river leading through through the village. This is an area of Asago in Hyogo, Japan, under the shadow of Takeda Castle on a small mountain a few kilometers to the west. The snow was wet and slushy, also heavy on my umbrella, but it was a great walk. I hope you enjoy it : )

    Hi thanks for joining me on this walk in the snowy countryside. It was such a surprise for me to see the snow sticking, I'd actually been walking in a town a kilometer away and was driving for breakfast when I saw the snow covered hillside. I immediately drove up and found a parking spot to walk through this beautiful little village. I'm glad I did, because a short while later (as I was having breakfast) the snow turned to rain and the what little snow there was melted away. I'll be posting this morning's earlier walk in snow and rain later this week, but in the meantime I hope your holiday season is off to a great start!

    One of the rare walks in the snowy rain, thanks for braving the elements with your umbrella. The scenery looks dormant under the continuous snowfall, only the red postal box in front of the bus stop (I think) pops out. I really enjoy the view of the village from a high vantage point: houses and roofs, tiny people walk with their umbrellas, all become miniaturized from the distance, like you'd see in a Christmas card.
