I visited Yamanakako and Fujikawaguchiko the weekend after you – the day after the first snow fell on Fuji San's peak! We also rented a car and ordered exactly the same as you guys at Brand New Day cafe 😂 it's lovely area and easy to drive around, and yes very relaxing. 🦢🗻

Honestly japanese will be hard to keep as the baby grows older. Schools will speak english/mandarin and you are the only anchor the baby speaks japanese to. All im saying is you gonna temper your expectations haha!
Don't worry, When I was young, My dad spoke to me in Hokkien, my mun in Hakka and I learn English and Mandarin in school. I still can speak the 2 dialect fluently

There’s Japanese school / language school / take an additional language in local school, SG 🤓
I learned Japanese from watching anime. Then I took it as additional subject during Polytechnic. Continue to study in Japanese language school

It is much easier to travel with a baby than an older child. Most airlines don't charge for up to 2 year olds. I traveled with 2 babies and it was fun!

My husband is Malay and I’m Chinese, our plan is to do OPOL (one parent, one language), I’ll speak mandarin and my husband will speak Malay to the baby, and then we’ll speak English when we’re communicating with other people, so that way our baby is exposed to all languages.
It worked for me with dialects — mom spoke Hokkien, dad spoke Cantonese, but since they don’t encourage me to speak those dialects, I can understand but don’t speak them.
A baby does not "pop" out.

Beside being less touristic, Yamanakako is physically nearer to Mt Fuji than Kawaguchiko. One can reach there by bus from Mishima station.
