What always got me impressed are prizes. 500Yen is, more or less, 3€. Maybe deflation and economical stagnation is not that bad.
Their using metal utensils on no stick pans . All the pans are scratched to hell , do you want to eat food from these pans ?
This kind of self-service can only work in Japan. With low overheads, the prices are low.
