大阪市住吉区の住吉大社で毎年1月7日に執り行われる神事『白馬(あおうま)神事』
北海道和種の佐目毛の神馬『白雪号』が、本殿周囲を3周し、その神馬の姿を見た人は邪気が払われるとされる
この神馬『白雪号』は、普段は大阪府和泉市の乗馬クラブで飼育されており、この白馬神事と夏祭りの2日間だけ、住吉大社に戻ってくる
その為、住吉大社で神馬が見られる機会は少なく、貴重なシーンでもある

The White Horse Ceremony is held every year on January 7th at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine in Sumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City, Japan.
The sacred horse Shirayuki, a Hokkaido Japanese breed of Sameke horse, circles the main shrine three times, and it is said that anyone who sees the horse will be rid of evil spirits.
The sacred horse Shirayuki is usually kept at a ranch in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, and only returns to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine for the two days of the White Horse Ceremony and the summer festival.
Therefore, there are few opportunities to see the sacred horse at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, making it a rare sight.
