The World’s LONGEST Desert Highway (544KM) I S2, EP105
I am finally travelling on the world’s longest desert highway which stretches about 544 km through the middle of the Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang Province. The highway is impeccable and the surrounding desert pristine. The highway is in one of the least inhabited regions of China and is being maintained every 4 km by someone who lives there throughout the year to take care of the highway. It’s fascinating how this piece of infrastructure is being kept alive by a very few people.
I eventually moved on to Tazhong a small oil village in the desert.
Join me on this adventure through the world’s longest desert highway 🎬

Wow! Amazing! Thanks, Yan, for taking us here to see the desert, the highway and the people who take care of the highway! Great work!
Salam dari kalimantan
Absolutely stunning video! Never seen anything like this. Step by small step and the mighty Taklamakan will be eventually defeated; incredible!
you can tell your wife you can meet once per month😂 太有趣了,在路上的感觉真好。
Can you tell us today's uygur people and how happy they are living if they are happy?
I grew up southern Xinjiang where my ancestors have been living for thousands of years. I left 25 years ago and since than the local names of places have been changed to Han Chinese language which I am unable to identify. Systematic erase of Uyghur culture is loss for human beings.
Good day! How true is this news??? Anyone who can answer here.. Thank you! 🥰
China declared a state of emergency following an overwhelming surge in respiratory illnesses, including Influenza A, HMPV, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and COVID-19.
🎉🎉🎉
天哪,好伟大啊,中国,中国政府,中国工人,维护工人,致敬,就是这种不服输的改天换地的本事才让中华文明延续数千年不断吧
God, it’s so great. China, the Chinese government, Chinese workers, maintenance workers, salute. It is this unyielding ability to change the world that has allowed Chinese civilization to continue for thousands of years.
I would have a bicycle;
flat, easy terrain.
Thanks Yan.
伊斯兰到那里去都是抢占毁灭了其他宗教,特别是善良与世无争的佛教!
@17:20 shows that TV addicts are everywhere – even China. He has a TV on and playing loud even though no one is watching it and he doesn't turn it off or down when engaging in a conversation. And don't tell me it's for loneliness. Total BS. This dude will live in a bustling metropolis and he will always have a TV on and playing in his house. The hallmark sign of TV addiction is an aversion to peace and quiet and an addiction to noise.
This is amazing. I wonder and applaud about the workers who maintain the desert highway plants. If there's water to irrigate how is there no water to shower. I don't understand did I miss something in the translation???

Very beautiful. Thank you. Happy New Year.
British Isle of Man TT Racer and truck mechanic holds the world record for cycling across the Taklamakan Desert in 28 hours 17 minutes! It would have been quicker but the authorities at the start paraded him around the city first before he actually properly set off into the desert itself.
Nice production! 🤩 Do you have a larce crew and a budget?
This is so incredible. Things that the rest of the world may not be aware of. China is so vast and they're actually trying their best at managing the country. Thanks, Yan.
I love how people are friendly
Fascinating video, Miss Yan. You continue to surprise and amaze us.
The wheatgrass grids are so impressive!! Can't imagine how large scale of an operation it must have been >.< It's really fascinating!
Great video – best drone footage – thanks
religion has been poisoning humanity for so long ):
I’m an avid follower of all your video uploads! Lately, I’ve noticed the background music in your drone footage is a bit too loud. I find myself lowering the volume every time the stunning drone scenery appears. Just a friendly note for an even better viewing experience!
I look forward to your videos every week and love seeing this side China.
Beautiful landscape and wondered how the Highways are protecting !!!!!
❤❤

"It's interesting to hear about the people who live every 4km to maintain this road. Have you had the chance to speak to any of them? It sounds like their lives have an interesting story to tell!"……….."Taklamakan is known as the 'Sea of Death', but seeing how diligently it is maintained is truly inspiring. Your journey reminds us of the human ability to adapt and survive even in the harshest environments."…Thank 4 the best video stories about all the remote area…marvelous…I hope some day me and my family can visiting this area….
这老头子长得跟张艺谋一样一样的

THESE yellow trees growing in such desert alkaline barren soil just look like brilliant gold,,,,, what a tough and adaptable living species in harsh environment,,, the appearance of these trees look similar to california cottonwood tree in which is deciduous. their leaves turn golden yellow in autumn and fall off quickly in early winter —-the month of mid October,,
a wonderful video.

8 months not a single day off:) must be so only, I wonder how are workers compensated for their 8-month assignments, and what benefits (such as insurance, vacation, or bonuses) are provided? Are workers free to leave or terminate their contracts? I love how you can find kind generous people everywhere you go. Lovely video as always
My dear, many things get destroyed, when the chinese army fells into Tibet 1956.

thanks for another interesting video about a place I had no idea about 🤗🤗
Such modest and hard-working people are working on that highway! I wish we have such people more.
Chinese from all areas are beautiful and kind peoples
OMG. I love the desert caretaker. He is so nice and want you to stay for a treat.😂😂😂😂 Admire these great souls guarding people from sand.🎉🎉🎉
another great video. Thanks so much. Your big fan in Canada. ( with a Chinese wife!)
Just simply stunning imagery captured by you. Thank you for showing us places we would otherwise never see ❤.
I love your videos!! They’re always a pleasure ❤
I was really astoned to see such a far of places with that much development, what we see here is the result by their dedicated citizen. Their facilities at this isolated places is very unexpected even our Place is not that much as compared to. China is a detailed developer. ❤
