Today we are exploring Osaka for the very first time. Osaka is known as Japan’s kitchen, there’s so many unique and interesting food we’ve never had before, from Takoyaki – deep fried octopus balls to Okonomiyaki – savory pancakes to fluffy giggly Japanese cheesecake, famous Japanese Steam buns and loaded Gyoza that’s to die for. We will explore Dotonbori Street which is like the Times Square of Osaka, and have some fun seeing Dontonbori from 250 feet above in one of the worlds only oval shaped ferris wheels. We’ll also check out the Nintendo Store and the beautiful Osaka castle which just so happened to be hosting a Sweet potato festival while we were visiting. Come with us on this adventure!

Oh Kitra….poor thing (hugs). I would have been afraid too.
I’m so excited for April 2025! Will we get to see you guys at Star Wars celebration? If so I’ll see you there!
Thank you for such a great video of an American trying out Osaka street food for the first time 👍
Takyoyaki Wanaka has the best takoyaki in Dotonbori. They have this amazing TAKOSEN where 2 takoyaki balls sandwiched in a shrimp rice cracker-shaped like a taco shell. One of the best i've tasted in Osaka. It's actually the store in front of the 555 Horai- 9:58.
I do anything but I will never do Ferris wheel I’m afraid of Ferris wheels
"Why don't you call me that anymore?" PETER OMG DONT LET THE NICKNAME DIE
Actually you can reserve seats in the ordinary cars on the shinkansen. Its best to reserve during a busy Japan holiday such as New Years or Golden Week when Japan does a lot of domestic travel to visit family. But during the slow seasons, its not necessary. Also it depends where your trip is starting from. If you line up early enough at Tokyo or Shinagawa station and heading towards Shin Osaka station, you'll get a seat. But if you are boarding somewhere in between, you might not as more people board along the way. I love seeing you guys travel abroad!!! 😊
I too ended up getting a little motion sickness on the bullet train. Especially when we were in the city. It was less disorienting to look out the window once we were in the countryside. ( I think the buildings made the speed more noticeable). I love Osaka, if I was going to live in Japan I would want to live closer to Osaka than to Tokyo I think.
At our Mall we have a “Japanese Style” cheese cake place and they have different flavors and smaller portions.
I feel like I saw a reel at some point saying that Cheese Cake Company came to Massachusetts?
Tokyo : NYC :: Osaka :: ATL === according to some of my friends.
Loving your Japan adventures 👏🏼
You guys seem like Japan pros now that it is your second time. You know all the tricks and great places to eat.
we tried all the different flavored kit kats, my favorite was the white wine that has alcohol in it, and it is wild.
It’s been almost 10 years since I went to Japan, your videos make me miss it so much!!
Also, I noticed Peter says museum the same way I do and my husband always makes fun of me 😂 so thanks for making me feel less alone 😆
That Ferris wheel kind reminds me of the people mover in Disney. A slow ride where you can rest your poor feet.
Already tearing up just watching this 😍😭 So wonderful you guys!!
This was So fun!!! You all make the best content! ❤ thanks for sharing!!
We have one cheese cake place in china town Boston
Living vicariously through you guys! I hope someday I can make traveling a part of my life but for now I’m a sahm 😅
The Michelin brothers, André and Édouard, created the Michelin star system to promote their tire company and encourage people to travel:
1900s
The Michelin brothers published a free travel guide for motorists in France that included maps, gas station locations, and information on changing tires.
1926
The brothers began awarding stars to fine dining restaurants in the guide:
One star: A very good restaurant
1931
The brothers introduced a hierarchy of stars, including two and three stars:
Two stars: Excellent cooking, worth a detour
Three stars: Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey
1936
The brothers published the criteria for the star rankings
Today
The Michelin Guide rates over 40,000 establishments in more than 24 territories. The Michelin star system is considered the highest reward for restaurants and is extremely difficult to achieve.
The Michelin brothers' foresight has made the Michelin Guide a relevant and best-selling resource for finding the best restaurants in the world.
There's actually a spot higher off the street that allows you look like you're running with the Glica man its like one level up
Japan is so beautiful can’t wait to go one day even tho I’m not a city guy but those Nintendo stores will bring me in to spend an insane amount of money! Mostly on yoshi merch!
24:57 only in Japan is where you will see Spider-Man with a rubber chicken 😂
Man you two are so brave with all the food you try.
So, Michelin rates restaurants so that you drive places and wear out your tires more often, thus requiring more frequent new tires.
I didn't know she does the editing. Can she please teach me all of her tricks and tips and what she uses?
It is interesting about Michelin tires making the Michelin star to rate food. I love the back stories to things like that. It started as simple as getting people on the road out for adventure. It started in 1900 when there was only 3000 cars and to promote people to get cars and see stuff the Michelin guide was created. Hotels and service stations were in the first guides and food was added to them in the 1920s. It is like how Guinness world records is tied to the beer company. We love those unusual connections.
Welcome to Osaka even Though the Universal Japan was Already Uploaded before this One, But I Can't Wait in 9 Months Time.
Wait… So at Osaka Castle there was a woman holding a spike while two guys hit it with sledgehammers. What if they miss?!
oh guys i been waiting for this vid!!! Osaka is my fave city.
When it comes to bento on the shinkansen try and travel around lunch time because places like Horai551 at shin osaka will make fresh ones that are devine.
For world expo this year my biggest advice is to pre Buy your ticket on there website, Soon the price will jump by 40%, Im going after starwars celebration which is the start of the expo.
Kitra is completely right when it comes to the donky fairis wheel its ALOT higher then it seems so closing ya eyes is fine ^^
The sake kitkats are surprisingly nice (and technicly have a very small amount of alcohol in em), The blueberry ones are rare to find!.
Osaka Castle looked lovely 🥰
My Godfathers son has lived in Japan for several decades, if you're around Disney or other attractions he's known for Cpt Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Love you both, you too are living the dream. When my wife and I are retired, we would love to go to Osaka and experience the culture and the all the great food they have to offer.
I love seeing that “NO _____, NO LIFE” is still a phrase in Japan.
