The mechanism that moves at 9am, noon, 3pm and 6pm is worth seeing.

A traveler appears at the top, a geisha appears from the left, and a female innkeeper appears from the bottom.

In 1603, Ieyasu, who held the reins of the country, developed the Tokaido road and established public transportation by establishing 53 stations. At this time, Minakuchi also became a post station. The post town grew to 27 towns and 718 houses. In the late Edo period, when travel by common people became more popular, the area was bustling with over 40 inns, honjin and wakihonjin. Here in Misuji, a mechanical clock has been installed that imitates the floats of the Minakuchi Festival, a symbol of Minakuchi (there are two in the east and west of Misuji Town).
