Solo in Japan’s Nuclear Disaster Zone (Fukushima) ☢️ 🇯🇵
On 11 March 2011, a colossal earthquake triggered a tsunami off the coast of Japan which would cause the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.
I explored the abandoned Japanese town of Futaba in Fukushima’s former exclusion zone.
It was an eerie experience, with abandoned homes, hospitals, and highway stops.
A poignant reminder of the destruction of the 2011 tragedy.
