Otsuchi Point in Fort Bragg, CA, is a beautiful spot along the Mendocino Coast that holds special significance. It is named after Fort Bragg’s sister city, Otsuchi, Japan, which was devastated by an earthquake and tsunami in 2011. The point features a commemorative plaque and a beautiful compass set into the trail, honoring the friendship and shared experiences between the two cities1.

The area is part of the Ka Kahleh Trail, which offers stunning ocean views and a peaceful environment for walking, running, or simply enjoying nature. It’s a place where visitors can reflect on the resilience of communities and the bonds that connect people across the globe.
