[4K] 4 Day Trip to Kyoto – Fall Color and Kinosaki Onsen
List of temples I visited in this video:
* Tofukuji (東福寺) : Ryōgin-an (龍吟庵), Sokushū-in (即宗院), Bishamonten Shorinji (毘沙門堂 勝林寺).
* Hōgon-in (宝厳院)
This was my second time visiting Tofukuji. I didn’t visit when all the maple leaves turn red , however I loved the experience. It’s like having a desert that is not too sweet – green bamboo and yellow maple leaves are the mint and cinnamon that give it sophisticated layers of flavors. Compared to Tofukuji, Hōgon-in in the infamous Arashiyama, had so many more visitors that I could barely get any clean shots. The Lion’s roar garden is full of craftsmanship state of mind.
Kinosaki Onsen is located in Hyogo Prefecture. Take the Hashidate line from Kyoto Station for about 2 hours and you will reach this 1300 year old onsen town. I have been to many such towns, but Kinosaki is one of the best if not the best. Tajima beef and giant snow crabs are served commonly in the area. There are seven tattoo friendly public baths, and many ryokans provide private baths. Being so close to Kyoto, surprisingly it is not too touristy nor is it overly crowded at all, which I really appreciate.
