秩父夜祭の山車が交差点で方向転換する際に用いる手法を「ギリ廻し」といいます。山車は4輪のため舵がきかないため、テコ棒やギリ棒を使って山車の重心を移動させることで方向転換します。
ギリ回しの手順は次のとおりです。
・下方が山車後部からテコ棒を差し込み、テコの原理で山車後部を浮かす。
・山車の重心下部にギリ棒を配置し、ギリ棒一点で山車を浮かせた状態で方向を変える。
・再度テコ棒で山車後部を浮かせてギリ棒を取り出し、再び山車が前進する。
方向転換の際には、屋台囃子が小太鼓を中心とした「玉入れ」という曲目になります。

約300年前に始まった秩父夜祭は、京都祇園祭、飛騨高山祭とともに日本三大山車祭りの一つとして知られています。 傘鉾と呼ばれる2台の山車と、屋台と呼ばれる4台の山車があります。秩父夜祭は、秩父神社の一大祭です。 豪華な山車を曳いて、ちちぶの街を巡り、山車の中では歌舞伎が披露されます。 夜空には花火が打ち上げられ、多くの参拝客で賑わいます。
祭りの起源は、江戸時代中期、神社の境内に生糸の市が開かれたことに遡ります。冬の空に打ち上がる花火を背景に、山車の上で揺れる色鮮やかな提灯が祭りの魅力です。
秩父夜祭の山車と神楽は、国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されています。

The technique used by the floats at the Chichibu Night Festival to change direction at an intersection is called “Giri-mawashi.” Since the floats have four wheels and cannot be steered, they change direction by using a lever or giri stick to move the center of gravity of the float.
The steps for giri-mawashi are as follows:
– The lower part inserts a lever stick into the rear of the float and lifts the rear of the float using the principle of leverage.
– A giri stick is placed under the center of gravity of the float, and the float is lifted on a single giri stick and the direction is changed.
– The lever stick is used again to lift the rear of the float, the giri stick is removed, and the float moves forward again.
When changing direction, the float music plays a piece called “Tama-ire” centered around a small drum.

The Chichibu Night Festival, which began about 300 years ago, is known as one of the three major float festivals in Japan, along with the Kyoto Gion Festival and the Hida Takayama Festival. There are two floats called Kasaboko and four floats called Yatai. The Chichibu Night Festival is the biggest festival of Chichibu Shrine. The gorgeous floats are pulled through the town of Chichibu, and kabuki performances are held inside the floats. Fireworks are set off into the night sky, and the festival is bustling with worshippers.
The origins of the festival date back to the mid-Edo period, when a raw silk market was held within the shrine grounds. The charm of the festival is the colorful lanterns swaying on the floats against the backdrop of fireworks bursting into the winter sky.
The floats and Kagura of the Chichibu Night Festival are designated as Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties of Japan.

秩父夜祭的花车在十字路口改变方向的方法被称为“giri-mawashi”。由于浮漂有四个轮子，无法转向，所以他们利用杠杆和杆子，通过移动浮漂的重心来改变方向。
