Kyoto’s Hidden Gem: Kaijusenji Temple in Autumn in Kizugawa City #autumn #fall #travel #fallfoliage

Kaijusenji Temple, belonging to the Shingon sect of Buddhism, was built in 735 by the monk Ryoben under the orders of Emperor Shomu. Its five-story pagoda, built during the Kamakura period (1185–1333), is designated as a national treasure. From the summit of the mountain, you can enjoy a fantastic view of Mikanohara, the ancient capital of Japan from 740 to 744, as shown in the video.

In addition to autumn leaves, Kaijusenji offers beautiful scenery during the cherry blossom and fresh green seasons.
