2007年、北海道・稚内市にて尾崎兄弟と幼馴染みの佐孝で結成。
2010年2月ミニアルバム「ハマナスの花」でメジャーデビュー。
リリースごとに支持を集め「夏空」「明日へ」「青い栞」などヒット曲多数。
その独自の音楽性と存在感で、同世代のカリスマ的存在に。
2016年10月11日（火）に開催される初の日本武道館公演にて
Galileo Galileiとしての活動を終了させることを発表。
2022年10月に尾崎雄貴、尾崎和樹、ベーシストの岡崎真輝、初期メンバーの岩井郁人の4人による新体制での始動を発表。2023年5月31日には、新体制初のフルアルバム「Bee and The Whales」を自主レーベルOuchi Daisuki Club Recordsよりリリース。

Formed in 2007 in Wakkanai, Hokkaido by the Ozaki brothers and childhood friend Sako.
Major debut in February 2010 with the mini-album “Hamanasu no Hana”.
With each release, they have gained support and have many hits, including “Natsuzora”, “Ashita e”, and “Aoi Shiori”.
With their unique musicality and presence, they have become charismatic figures among their generation.
On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, they announced that they would end their activities as Galileo Galilei at their first concert at the Nippon Budokan. In October 2022, they announced that they would start a new lineup of four members: Yuki Ozaki, Kazuki Ozaki, bassist Maki Okazaki, and original member Ikuto Iwai.
