A pilgrimage to 88 temples spread across the four prefectures of Shikoku in Japan is called “henro. I rented a Super Cub and made the 1300-km pilgrimage over a period of 10 days.
My pilgrimage passed through Matsuyama City, Uwajima City, and other cities in Ehime Prefecture. At Dogo Hot Springs in Matsuyama, the oldest hot spring in Japan, I encountered the legend of “Emon Saburo,” the founder of the pilgrimage.
I also made a sightseeing stop along the way. Enjoy the historic streets of Japan, such as “Uchikocho” with its old-fashioned townscape and “Pokopen Yokocho” with its retro buildings!
