ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。

・金峯山寺
吉野山から山上ヶ岳にかけての一帯は、古くから金の御岳、金峯山と称され、古代から世に広く知られた聖域とされました。
白鳳時代に役行者が金峯山の山頂にあたる山上ヶ岳で、一千日間の参籠修行された結果、金剛蔵王大権現を感得せられ、修験道のご本尊とされました。
役行者は、そのお姿をヤマザクラの木に刻まれて、山上ヶ岳の頂上と山下にあたる吉野山にお祀りしたことが金峯山寺の開創と伝えられています。
以来、金峯山寺は、皇族貴族から一般民衆に至るまでの数多の人々から崇敬をうけ、修験道の根本道場として大いに栄えることとなりました。
明治初年の神仏分離廃仏毀釈の大法難によって、一時期、廃寺の憂き目を見たこともありましたが、篤い信仰に支えられ、仏寺に復興して、現在では金峯山修験本宗の総本山として全国の修験者・山伏が集う修験道の中心寺院となっています。
・令和６年秋の秘仏ご本尊特別御開帳
金峯山寺では、金峯山寺を含む「吉野大峯」地域が世界遺産に登録されて20周年を迎えることを慶讃すると共に、世界遺産・国宝の「金峯山寺仁王門」の大修理勧進のために、同じく世界遺産・国宝の「金峯山寺本堂・蔵王堂」の秘仏ご本尊金剛蔵王大権現３体の特別ご開帳される。
期間：令和６年１０月１2日(土)～1２月１日(日)
拝観時間：午前８時３０分～午後４時
（法要等により一時的に入堂を制限する場合があります。）
特別拝観料：大人1,600円・中高生1,200円・小学生800円
・脳天大神 龍王院
金峯山寺の蔵王堂から西側へ急な階段（約500段）を下りた川沿いにある、金峯山寺の塔頭のひとつ。
頭を割られた大蛇（金剛蔵王大権現の変化身）を祀っており、「吉野の脳天さん」と親しまれています。
首から上の病気に霊験あらたかと言われており、入学試験合格、病気全癒、商売繁盛祈願の参拝参詣者が多く訪れます。

In November 2024, I went to Kinpusenji Temple in Yoshino Town, Nara Prefecture.

・Kinpusenji Temple
The area from Mount Yoshino to Mount Sanjo has long been known as Kin no Mt. Kinpu and has been a widely known sacred area since ancient times.
During the Hakuho period, En no Gyoja spent 1,000 days in seclusion at Mount Sanjo, the summit of Mount Kinpu, and as a result, he was able to sense Kongo Zao Daigongen and became the principal image of Shugendo.
It is said that Kinpusen-ji Temple was founded when En no Gyoja carved his image into a wild cherry tree and enshrined it at the top of Sanjo-ga-dake and at the foot of the mountain on Mount Yoshino.
Since then, Kinpusen-ji Temple has been revered by many people, from the imperial family and aristocrats to ordinary people, and has flourished as the main training center for Shugendo.
Due to the Great Persecution that saw the separation of Shinto and Buddhism and the destruction of Buddhism in the early Meiji period, the temple was once abandoned for a time, but thanks to the support of fervent faith, it was restored as a Buddhist temple, and is now the head temple of the Kinpusen Shugen sect, a central temple for Shugendo practitioners and mountain ascetics from all over the country.
・Special public viewing of the secret Buddha statue in autumn 2024
Kinpusenji Temple will be holding a special public viewing of the three secret Buddha statues of Kongo Zao Daigongen in the main hall and Zao-do hall of Kinpusenji Temple, also a World Heritage Site and National Treasure, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the registration of the Yoshino Omine region, which includes Kinpusenji Temple, as a World Heritage Site and to raise funds for the major repairs of the Kinpusenji Niomon Gate.
Period: Saturday, October 12th, 2024 to Sunday, December 1st, 2024
Visiting hours: 8:30am to 4pm
(Entry may be temporarily restricted due to memorial services, etc.)
Special admission fee: 1,600 yen for adults, 1,200 yen for junior and senior high school students, 800 yen for elementary school students
