富田林寺内町の歴史ある寺院と町家の風景：大阪観光

大阪府富田林市富田林の散策。大阪阿部野橋から近鉄南大阪線・長野線で約30分。
富田林は、戦国時代に浄土真宗の興正寺別院を中心に形成された寺内町である。その後、江戸時代に幕府の直轄地となり、富田林街道と東高野街道の結節点でもある在郷町として発展し、商業や酒造業が発達した。
2024年現在、大阪府内唯一の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に指定されている。まず、町割は現在も凡そかつての姿をとどめており、水路や辻、土塁にその面影を見ることができる。また、江戸時代以来の繁栄ぶりを伺わせる大規模な入母屋造や切妻造りの町家が現存しており、道路沿いに軒を連ねている。現在は、古民家を活かした飲食店なども増加している。

Tondabayashi was a temple town formed around the Kosho-ji temple branch of the Jodo Shinshu sect in the Warring States Period. Later, it became under the direct control of the shogunate in the Edo period, and developed as a zaigomachi, a nodal point on the Tondabayashi Kaido and Higashi-Koya Kaido roads, where commerce and the sake brewing industry developed.
As of 2024, the town is the only important traditional building preservation district in Osaka Prefecture. First of all, the town layout still retains much of its original appearance, and can be seen in the waterways, streets, and earthen mounds. In addition, large scale townhouses with irimoya or gabled roofs, which suggest prosperity since the Edo period, still exist, and line the streets. Today, an increasing number of restaurants and other establishments are making use of these old houses.
