山頂部がノコギリの刃のように鋭くとがり、その独特の山容が目を引く阿蘇五岳の中で一番東に位置します。山頂部から深い谷が放射状に刻まれていて、複雑な地形になっていおり、古くは大火口があったとされますが現地は侵食で壊れ残っていません。
この山はどの方角から見ても美しい円錐形をしており、全山が潅木に覆われ、若葉、青葉、紅葉、樹氷と四季折々の美しさを見せます。
Its peak is sharp like a saw blade, and its unique shape is eye-catching; it is the easternmost of the five peaks of Mount Aso. Deep valleys radiate out from the summit, creating a complex topography, and it is said that there was a large crater here in ancient times, but the site has been destroyed by erosion and no trace remains.
The mountain has a beautiful cone shape from any direction, and the entire mountain is covered in shrubs, showing off the beauty of each season with young leaves, green leaves, autumn leaves, and frost-covered trees.
