Among the beautiful seasons of Kyoto, autumn, when the leaves turn vibrant shades of red and gold, is a particularly popular time for visitors from around the world. “Kyoto Nishiyama” is an area filled with hidden spots where you can enjoy the autumn foliage at a leisurely pace. Take in the splendid views from the Upper Shoin, which has been used as a filming location, as well as the exquisite “hanachozu” flower-filled water basins that reflect a deep appreciation for nature throughout the grounds.
