【JAPAN Trip】🇯🇵Taimatsu Akashi, a Traditional Fire Festival in Sukagawa Fukushima
※This is a video of my return from Germany to Japan in the fall of 2023 for the first time in 5 years.
Held annually on the second Saturday of November in Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, the annual “Taimatsu Akashi” is a traditional fire festival that has continued for more than 430 years and is one of the three major fire festivals in Japan.
Huge torches are carried by young men and paraded through the city, then set alight on Mt. Goro torches burning in the night sky in late autumn are very powerful!
We hope you will enjoy watching the festival to the end.
