吹割の滝（ふきわれのたき）は、群馬県沼田市利根町に位置し、別名「東洋のナイアガラ」とも呼ばれる日本を代表する名勝です。国指定の天然記念物、日本の滝百選にも選ばれています。
それではなぜ「東洋のナイアガラ」と呼ばれているのでしょうか。
「滝」と聞くと、一般的には山の高いところから流れ落ちるものを想像しますが、吹割の滝の落差は7ｍしかありません。
