Japan 4K Kamakura Walk Tour – Be amazed by the giant Buddha
I visited the “”Kamakura Great Buddha”” located at Kotoku-in Temple in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Now it’s crowded with foreign tourists. This national treasure, the bronze seated statue of Amida Nyorai, was erected in 1252 and is widely known as a symbol of Kamakura. Please enjoy it as a virtual walk.
The Kamakura Great Buddha is one of Japan’s most representative Buddhist statues, along with the Great Buddha of Nara, and is one of the largest outdoor Buddha statues in Japan. It is a gigantic bronze statue with a height of 13.35 meters and a weight of approximately 121 tons. When it was first erected, it was enshrined in the Great Buddha Hall, but later it was moved to an open seating area and is now popular in its current form. Additionally, Kamakura has many historic streets and temples and shrines, allowing you to experience a rich cultural heritage. This video focuses on the Kamakura Great Buddha, but also introduces the surrounding scenery and cityscape, so please take a look.
