Onomichi, Japan🇯🇵 A Stunning Seaside City With Breathtaking Views (4K UHD)

Onomichi (尾道) and Tomonoura (鞆の浦) are two hidden gems in Japan that offer a charming blend of traditional Japanese culture, scenic beauty, and rich history. Located in Hiroshima Prefecture, these coastal towns are perfect for travelers seeking a peaceful escape and an authentic experience of Japan’s less commercialized areas.

Onomichi (尾道), often called the “City of Hills,” is known for its picturesque views, temples, and old-fashioned atmosphere. The narrow streets lined with traditional houses, temples, and shrines invite visitors to take leisurely walks while soaking in the local culture. A highlight of the town is the Temple Walk, which passes through 25 temples, offering an immersive spiritual and historical journey. The iconic Senkoji Temple (千光寺) sits atop a hill, providing breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内海) and the town below. Onomichi is also a paradise for cyclists, as it serves as the starting point of the famous Shimanami Kaido (しまなみ海道), a cycling route that connects Japan’s main island, Honshu, to Shikoku across a series of bridges.

The town’s nostalgic ambiance has made it a popular location for Japanese films and literature, adding to its cultural significance. Onomichi is also famous for its ramen, a local specialty that visitors shouldn’t miss.

Just a short drive from Onomichi, Tomonoura (鞆の浦) is a quaint fishing village that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. It is a historic port town with a history dating back to the Edo period (江戸時代), and its tranquil atmosphere and traditional architecture are reminiscent of Japan’s past. The town is often described as a “living museum” due to its well-preserved streets and buildings.

  4. I was there several years ago to do the Shimanami Kaido and it has been one of my favourite little cities in Japan.

  5. Đất nước,con người japan quá đẹp ,lôi quốn .Đúng là đất nước mệnh gianh MẶT TRỜI MỌC ❤🎉
