開陽台と直線道路 Kaiyodai and straight road
開陽台は北海道の東部の中標津町にある標高271ｍの小高い丘で展望台からの眺望は周囲に視界を遮るものが無く、地球の丸さを360度感じることができる。晴れた日には野付半島や国後島まで望めることができる。付近には根釧台地の格子状防風林があり、俯瞰で眺めることができる。開陽台の麓には全長約6kmの直線道路があり「ミルクロード」と呼ばれていて、地平線に続く一本道を一望できる。中標津町の産業は酪農が中心で人口約23,000人に対して乳牛が約39,000頭飼育されている。1980年に公開された高倉健、倍賞千恵子主演の映画「遥かなる山の呼び声」(子役で吉岡秀隆が出演しており「男はつらいよ(満男役)」「北の国から(純役)」出演のきっかけとなる)の舞台となった町でもある。
Kaiyodai is a small hill located in Nakashibetsu Town in the eastern part of Hokkaido, at an altitude of 271m. From the observation deck, you can see 360 degrees and feel that the earth is round. At the foot of Kaiyodai, there is a straight road called “Milk Road” that is about 6km long, and you can see the view of the road continuing to the horizon. Nakashibetsu Town’s main industry is dairy farming, and about 39,000 dairy cows are raised for a population of about 23,000 people.
