【一人旅山口編】ぶらり旅 第472回「山口県:錦帯橋&椎尾八幡宮」-岩国,神社,名勝,アクセス,駐車場,鵜飼,遊覧船,桜,紅葉- Kintai Bridge,Yamaguchi
ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2022年9月に山口県岩国市にある「錦帯橋」と「椎尾八幡宮」に行きました。

・錦帯橋
錦帯橋は国指定の名勝であり、日本を代表する木造橋です。
1673年、岩国3代藩主の吉川広嘉が木造橋を架けましたが、錦川の洪水によりすぐに流失しました。
しかし、改良を加えて1674年に再建された橋は、昭和25年の台風29号による洪水で流失するまでの276年間威容を保ちました。
流失後、市民の強い要望により、昭和28年に再度、木の橋として再建されました。
橋の長さは、約193m、幅は約5m。
巻きガネとカスガイを使った「木組みの技法」で造られています。
反り橋の構造は精巧かつ独創的で、現代の橋梁工学からみても非の打ちどころがないと言われています。
春は桜、夏は鵜飼いや花火の夜景、秋は城山の自然林の紅葉、冬は雪化粧と、四季折々の色彩豊かな景観が楽しめます。
入橋料：大人（中学生以上) 310円、
小学生150円（幼児無料）
往復のみ、片道料金はありません。
営業時間：8：00〜17：00
（観光シーズン18：00まで、夏期19：00まで）
・料金所に人がいない時間は、
夜間料金箱に料金を入れてお渡りください。
・夜間照明は22：00まで
（24時間入橋可能ですが、22：00からは消灯）
・椎尾八幡宮
「椎尾八幡宮」 (しいのおはちまんぐう) は1626年、岩国藩主吉川広正により建立されたと伝えられており、現在は西岩国地区の氏神となっています。
33年に一度行われる神幸祭が特徴で、直近では2013年に第11回の大祭が行われました。
神社横に20台程度の無料駐車場がありますが、進入道路は急坂で大変狭く、また入口がわかりにくいため、車での訪問は錦帯橋そば下河原駐車場のご利用をお勧めします。

In September 2022, I went to “Kintai Bridge” and “Shiio Hachiman Shrine” in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

・Kintai Bridge
Kintai Bridge is a nationally designated scenic spot and is one of Japan’s most representative wooden bridges.
In 1673, Hiroyoshi Yoshikawa, the third lord of Iwakuni, built a wooden bridge, but it was soon washed away by a flood of the Nishiki River.
However, the bridge was rebuilt in 1674 after some improvements were made, and maintained its dignity for 276 years until it was washed away by a flood caused by Typhoon No. 29 in 1950.
After it was washed away, it was rebuilt again as a wooden bridge in 1953 due to strong requests from citizens.
The bridge is about 193m long and 5m wide.
It is built using the “timber frame technique” using makigane and kasugai.
The structure of the arched bridge is intricate and original, and is said to be flawless even from the perspective of modern bridge engineering.
You can enjoy colorful scenery throughout the seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, night views of cormorant fishing and fireworks in summer, autumn leaves in the natural forest of Shiroyama, and snow-covered scenery in winter.
Admission fee: 310 yen for adults (junior high school students and above),
150 yen for elementary school students (free for infants)
Only round trip, no one-way fee.
Opening hours: 8:00-17:00
(until 18:00 during tourist season, 19:00 in summer)
・When there is no one at the toll booth,
please put the toll into the night toll box before crossing.
・Nighttime lighting is on until 22:00
(You can enter the bridge 24 hours a day, but the lights are turned off from 22:00)
・Shiio Hachimangu
Shiio Hachimangu is said to have been built in 1626 by Yoshikawa Hiromasa, the lord of Iwakuni, and is currently the guardian deity of the Nishi-Iwakuni area.
It is characterized by its Shinko Festival, which is held once every 33 years, and the most recent 11th festival was held in 2013.
There is a free parking lot for about 20 cars next to the shrine, but the access road is very narrow with a steep slope, and the entrance is difficult to find, so if you are visiting by car, we recommend using the Shimokawahara Parking Lot next to the Kintai Bridge.
