川崎宿の散策：街に残る江戸時代・旧東海道宿場町の痕跡をたどる
神奈川県川崎市川崎宿の散策。川崎駅へは、東京駅から電車で約20-30分。
川崎宿は、東海道に設置された53か所の宿駅、東海道五十三次の1つで、1623年に整備された。東海道はかつてからの交通路で、江戸時代に幕府によって5街道の1つとして整備され、重要な幹線道路となった。東海道の起点の日本橋からは、品川宿を経て川崎宿に至る。川崎宿へは六郷の渡しと呼ばれる渡し船に乗る必要があった。
1623年の整備から400年以上が経過した現在、川崎の街は発展し、かつての宿場町の面影は影を潜めている。そんな川崎の宿場町の痕跡をたどる動画をお届けする。

Kawasaki Shuku is one of the 53 stations on the Tokaido Highway, and was established in 1623. The Tokaido Highway has been a transportation route since ancient times, and was established as one of the five highways by the shogunate in the Edo period, becoming an important arterial road. From Nihonbashi, the starting point of the Tokaido Highway, it passes through Shinagawa Shuku to Kawasaki Shuku. To reach Kawasaki Shuku, one had to take a ferry called Rokugo no Watashi. Today, more than 400 years after its construction in 1623, the city of Kawasaki has developed. This movie shows the traces of such an old post town in Kawasaki.
