Therefore, at the end of the Edo period, approximately 400 ken (approximately 720 meters) of stone pavement was constructed using “yamaishi”.

The mountain stones used at this time were the same cobblestones as the river stones of the Oigawa River, which are included in the “Makinohara Gravel Layer,” which is thickly deposited under the cultivated soil of the Makinohara Plateau, and are rougher than the river stones of the Oigawa River today. It is non-slip.
