I enjoyed Indonesia’s most luxurious train journey from Jakarta, Indonesia’s largest city, to Yogyakarta, its ancient capital.
The name of the train is ARGO SEMERU. It runs from Jakarta to Surabaya. This time I chose Compartment Suite Class, which is a compartment-type seat and a completely private room.

Luxury Class passengers can enter the lounge at Gambir Station before boarding.
In the lounge, light snacks, coffee, and tea are served.
Staff will call out to you according to the departure time of each train, so there is no need to worry about delays.

The Compartment Suite of the ARGO SEMERU train I took was located at the end of the platform.
As soon as I boarded, the tour conductor came to greet me.
When we departed, I was given a welcome drink and a wet towel.
After a while, the appetizers and main menu were prepared.
After the meal, you can relax with coffee or tea.
The seats can be reclined almost completely flat. They even had massage functions.
