西院春日神社（さいいんかすがじんじゃ）は、京都市右京区にある神社。旧社格は村社。

春日神（建御賀豆智命・伊波比主命・天児屋根命・比売神）を祀る

歴史
淳和天皇が退位に伴い淳和院離宮（別名西院・この付近の地名である西院の由来となった）へ居を移すに際し、天長10年（833年）にその守護社として創建された。付近では当時の淳和院の遺構が発掘されており、規模の大きな離宮であったことが判明している。

境内社である還来神社（もどろきじんじゃ）は、還来大神として知られており、旅行の安全にご利益があるとされる。また先の大戦中には、出征兵士の無事帰還を願う家族が多数訪れたという。

境内には、日清戦争以降の戦争における西院地区の戦没者を祀る招魂碑が建てられている。元は明治34年（1901年）に京福西院駅付近に建てられたものが昭和3年（1928年）に境内へ移設され、後に碑の石を改築したものである。

Saiin Kasuga Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto. Formerly a village shrine.

It enshrines the Kasuga deities (Kenmikazuchi-no-mikoto, Ihabi-no-mikoto, Tenko-no-mikoto, and Hibei-no-mikoto).

History
The shrine was built in 833 as a guardian shrine for Emperor Junna when he abdicated and moved his residence to the Junwa-in Detached Palace (also known as Sai-in, from which the name of the area around the shrine, Sai-in, was derived). The remains of Junwa-in at that time have been excavated in the vicinity, and it is known that it was a large detached palace.

Modoroki-jinja, a shrine on the grounds of the temple, is known as the “Great God of Return,” and is believed to bring blessings for safe travel. During the World War II, the shrine was visited by many families wishing for the safe return of soldiers who had gone to war.

In the precincts of the shrine, there is a monument dedicated to the war dead of the Saiin area during the Sino-Japanese War and later wars. The monument was originally erected near Keifuku Saiin Station in 1901, but was moved to the precincts in 1928, and the stone of the monument was later rebuilt.
