This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

  1. ANA's true ZIPAIR competition is Air Japan, Peach competes with Jetstar Japan that you flew in a previous episode which JAL owns 50% of.

  2. It pays to research which side of the plane to sit, just for the spectacular Mount Fuji views. FYI, if you're flying south from Tokyo, you'd want to get the window seats on the right and vice versa.

  3. That landing reminded me of an old commercial with the catch phrase “Oh, what a feeling – Toyama!”

    Or was that Toyota? 🤔

  4. Always stunning footage and candid reviews from you Kevin! I really enjoy this Japan series when you have snagged a handful of domestic flights on both narrowbodies and widebodies.

  5. I’ve also visited Japan a few months ago, but via Narita Airport. And the most surprising thing about all of Japan’s airports are the jet bridges. They look modern, spacious and build thoughtfully. The Japan experience really starts from there

  6. As a dedicated ANA Mileage Club member, I'm super excited to try the Premium Class one day! I hardly take domestic flights (only been to Itami, Aomori, and CTS for now), so I'm looking forward to that day. The food looked incredible! Cheers, Kevin!

  7. I remember flying out of Japan and seeing Mount Fuji in the distance…fantastic sight…plus i got some great camera shots of the coastline of Japan….flying in a C-141 starlifter….great reviews always……….

  8. Yes Kevin I agree. Japan everytime, all the time!😉
BTW, that might have been the smoothest landing I have ever seen.
As always thank you for beeing the number one travel inspiration!

  9. I recommend you fly Air Algerie after your Japan trip. Should by quite the contrast 🤣

  10. Just waiting for the end of this Japan series where Kevin reveals he's moving to Japan. We know you love traveling here more than anywhere else!

  11. What’s not to like in that experience – having just returned again from Japan I always enjoy the whole thing – there is truly nothing like it to even compare – apart from it being above and beyond in many things – great video and loved the chilled Bento – I always purchase these for my Shinkansen journeys ❤️

  12. 9:18 heaven and earth difference from the lazy purser from your PR flight from a while back. (Had to bring this up because I heard you mention Philippine airlines early on in this video 🤣)

  13. I am loving this Japan series! So unique and interesting. It would be great to see more in-depth series like this on specific countries.

  14. Nicely made video and am enjoying the series. On my next trip to Japan, I think I will just fly around the country.

  15. We flew CTS – FUK premium class on an ANA 772 in March with exactly the same seat. There is an updated version of this seat on newer (or is that less older) 772’s and 787’s.
As expected cabin service, drinks and food were exemplary, but I still felt JAL’s first class service is just slightly better.

  16. I've watched many trip reports about domestic flights with ANA, and I must say what I always find impressed is the bento box. It's just so high quality, better than any domestic business class meal

  17. I have a trip around Japan planned for next March, your video tour is really helpful, thanks Kevin!

  18. Loved the vid as always. Btw as perfectionistic as you are, I spotted a tiny thingy😂 the flight stats, you wrote 40k instead of 42k😅

  19. Speckling — you don't hear that word every day. Had to look it up to make sure it was real, and indeed it is 👍. Always a joy your videos, and educational too!

  20. Love this Japan series. Thank you. Do you have plans to review hotels in Japan too?

  21. Great video as always – thank you! Oh, and the puzzle at the end looks like Singapore-Melbourne on Scoot 😀

  22. ANA crews are amazing and really do go above and beyond. Back in 2019 during the Rugby World Cup, a flight attendant noticed that I was wearing a Japanese rugby team jersey and kept me updated on the Japan/Scotland game that was going on during the early portions of the flight back to the US.

  23. The disparity in fleet sizes is probably because J-Air, JAC, RAC, and HAC, JAL's regional subsidiaries, are not counted. ANA's regional subsidiary, ANA Wings, however, is usually counted in the fleet size.

  24. As usual, excellent vid.

Oh, I love Hokkaido, its seafood, the dairy products, the chocolate (Royce chocolates to be precise), onsens, etc. And Sapporo Classic (beer), which BTW, is only available in Hokkaido. And a can of Yebisu for your lunch is quite decent.

I give you props for not including the faces of flight attendants, passengers, and people in general in all your vids. Many Japanese when they create vids are careful to not include the faces of strangers as a common, polite and respectful courtesy. If a face happens to be in a vid, it's purposely made hazy to protect the person's identity.

As for the exterior views, I noticed the giant cranes adjacent to New Chitose where a new computer microchip factory is under construction. And the views of the Northern Japan Alps behind Toyama on approach to Komatsu are spectacular.

Thx for an excellent and scenic vid.
