Goza-no-yu is one of the “Kusatsu Three Hot Springs” and is a hot spring located right in front of the Yubatake.
From the large hall on the second floor, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Yubatake directly in front of you.
The hot springs are free-flowing, with two types of water flowing into the two baths: “Yubata Source” and “Bandai Source”.
Both are highly acidic with a pH of 1.7 to 2.08. If they get in your eyes, they will sting.
The water is like lotion and leaves your skin smooth.
If you stay in the bath for too long, it may be too irritating to your skin.
The view from the large hall on the second floor was great and I was able to take a comfortable break.
I went in the morning, but both the bath and the large hall on the second floor were empty.
After that, the number of people increased steadily after noon, and there was a line at the reception desk at the entrance.
The Wi-Fi is also available, which is a plus.

It is said that Goza-no-yu began when Minamoto no Yoritomo took a bath there. It is said that the stone that Yoritomo sat on at that time was called “Goza no Ishi” and the bath that he took in was called “Goza no Yu”.

There are two types of baths.
Kinoyu focuses on wood, using cypress for the bathtub, Japanese cypress for the pillars, oak for the floor and cedar for the ceiling.
Ishinoyu’s bathtub is made of stately and elegant granite.
The baths are said to be effective for neuralgia, joint pain, bruises, sprains, burns, chronic digestive diseases, recovery from illness, beautiful skin, and chronic gynecological diseases.
